Does your child only eat beige foods? Are mealtimes ending in tears?

If every meal feels like a battle and your child refuses anything beyond a handful of foods, you are not alone.

We know how draining it feels to:

  • Beg your child to take “just one bite.”
  • Hide vegetables in pasta sauces, only for them to be rejected.
  • Watch mealtimes turn into meltdowns instead of family time.
  • Worry constantly about nutrition, growth, and school lunches.

It’s not your fault. Traditional advice often misses one crucial piece: your child’s sensory needs.

That’s why we created the Support Sensory Eaters Programme — a step-by-step, parent-friendly course designed by a Paediatric Dietitian and a Children’s Occupational Therapist, bringing together nearly 30 years of experience.

“It felt like I was hitting my head off a brick wall — until this programme finally gave us a clear path forward.”

Who is this programme for?

Whether your child is autistic, has ADHD, sensory processing differences — or no diagnosis at all — if mealtimes feel stressful and exhausting, this programme will help.

  • This programme is designed for parents and carers whose:

  • Children who eat a very limited range of foods (often just beige foods).

  • Children who get upset, gag, or vomit when new foods are introduced.

  • Children who find textures or smells overwhelming.

  • Children who will only eat a limited range of foods

  • Children who refuse to sit at the table or eat with the family.

  • Children who struggle to eat outside the home (restaurants, parties, school).

Why This Programme Is Different

Unlike generic picky eating advice, this course tackles both nutrition and sensory needs, giving you practical tools to move from food refusal to calmer, more confident mealtimes.

It’s the first programme in the UK & Ireland to combine the expertise of a Paediatric Dietitian and a Children’s Occupational Therapist, bringing together over 30 years of experience.
Professional headshots of Dr Kirsty Porter, Paediatric Dietitian, and Grace Magennis, Children’s Occupational Therapist, creators of the Support Sensory Eaters Programme.

Parent Stories

“A must have resource for sensory feeding challenges. This course changed everything for our daughters feeding journey. Before the course, meal times were full of anxiety with limited beige foods, meltdowns trying new foods and daily struggles on eating. Through this course we finally understand why she reacts the way she does helping us with how we approach meal times. The sensory cups concept helped us see which of her senses where overwhelmed or under stimulated, the checklist gave us a clear profile of her needs, making small changes like reducing smells in the kitchen, adding movement before meals and offering a visual choice made a huge difference. The sensory regulation tips created a more peaceful routine. Now shes calmer at the table, trying new foods and we’re all less stressed at meal times. We are incredibly thankful to Grace and Kirsty. Highly recommend for any parent facing sensory food challenges as the info is clear, compassionate and practical!”

FAQ

  • Who is this programme for?

Parents and caregivers of children with sensory food challenges — whether your child avoids certain textures, only eats beige foods, or shows extreme reactions at mealtimes. Suitable for children with or without diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, or sensory processing differences.

  • What age is this for?

Best suited for children aged 3–10. The principles also support older children with sensory feeding challenges, but it’s not designed for eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, or ARFID, which need specialist treatment.

  • How does the programme work?

You’ll access pre-recorded webinars, workbooks, and printable resources that you can complete at your own pace. Take time to implement strategies step by step — there’s no rush, and you can revisit lessons anytime.

  • Will the strategies work for my family?

Yes — the programme is adaptable. We guide you through personalising strategies to your child’s sensory profile and your family routines, including mealtimes, food acceptance, and eating out.

  • What if my child only eats 5-10 foods — will this really help?

Yes. The steps are designed for extremely selective eaters. Progress is gradual and at your child’s pace, but with consistency you’ll build confidence and open the door to new foods.

  • Is this a replacement for NHS services?

No — it complements professional care. This programme gives you ongoing, practical strategies at home, with combined expertise from a Paediatric Dietitian and an Occupational Therapist.

  • How long will I have access?

You’ll keep ongoing access, including any future updates, so you can return to the materials whenever you need support.
